In the latest issue of Simple Grace, Taya Kyle, the widow of "American Sniper" Chris Kyle, opens her heart about how God's love helped her survive the tragic loss of her husband and how she found purpose in her pain
“Grief is a very personal and individual thing,” Taya shares. “You can’t judge anyone on how long it should take them or how they should go about it. I still feel waves of crushing heartache, but God has shown me again and again that prayer and faith are the only great healers, and through that, I’ve learned that the ones we love never really leave us.”
“You can’t say God is hearing you only when He answers your prayers with a yes,” she adds. “It says in the Bible we’re supposed to go through trials and tribulations with great joy because it deepens our compassion toward others and increases our perseverance. I think that’s entirely true. If you’re willing to endure until you get to the beautiful side of the pain, you discover something you didn’t know was there.”
