Country music star, Wade Hayes, opens up to Simple Grace about his battle with stage four cancer and how it fit into God's plan and proved that God was with him the whole time:
"I didn’t understand why this horrible stuff was happening to me all at once…I was mad at God,” Wade shares. “I wondered why He was punishing me.” But as the world began to crash down around him, Wade discovered he wasn’t alone in the rubble. “During my treatments, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was there,” he says. “There were times when I wasn’t even strong enough to talk to Him, but He had everything to do with me getting as far as I did and surviving. I’d try not to focus on the blisters in my mouth, the nausea, the needle in my chest or the surgeries. I’d just pretend it was already done and that He’d already gotten me through it, and that helped. Then I’d pray for strength and I’d put my game face on again. But the whole way, He supernaturally carried me.”
Looking back, Wade believes that the cancer was meant to tear his life apart so God could rebuild it.
