San Diego, CA—A single mother experienced the magic of Christmas earlier this week when a kind stranger reunited her with an item she feared was lost forever.
Cristina Parodi-Araya lost her son, Francisco Jose Araya, eight years ago to cancer. Since his death she has worn a small locket containing his ashes and was panicked when she discovered it missing after a trip to the mall.
Cristina spoke to a local news station about the missing locket and Ana Hernandez was inspired to help. She enlisted her husband, Carlos, who works at the mall to see if he could find it.
Luckily for Cristina, one of Carlos's co-workers reported they had found a locket in the parking lot earlier that week. As soon as she found the locket, Ana reached out to Cristina.
"When I received a call from that sweet, caring lady Ana, telling me if I was the lady who lost the locket, I couldn’t speak, I just said yes," Cristina said. "I went numb."
When she got the locket back she was overjoyed. She believes that the Hernandez family are angels from God.
"I'm so happy, I got my Christmas miracle," she said. "I can't believe it, that the Lord is so merciful that he gave me my Christmas miracle, and my angel is back with me."
