In what could have been a sad moment in New York, a homeless and mentally handicapped woman boarded a dirty subway train barefoot last week. But thanks to a stranger's act of kindness, the moment quickly became a happy one.
New Yorker Kay Brown said she asked the homeless woman what size shoe she wore. Thanks to God's grace, both women wore the same size. So Kay took off her boots and gave them to the woman in need. As she put it in a Facebook post, which now has more than 27,000 likes, "I can buy another pair of shoes tomorrow."
The homeless woman wept with gratitude at the gesture, but Kay's generous outreach was not the only one that day. After a man saw that Kay only had thin socks to wear home, he offered her a thicker pair to wear. Sometimes it just takes one person doing God's work for another to follow suit!
