The latest issue of Simple Grace includes the story of Jennifer Rothschild, an artist who lost her sight, but recovered her faith in an astounding way. In this sneak peak, Jennifer shares from the heart about the power of unanswered prayers
At the age of 15, Jennifer was diagnosed with an illness that left her permanently blind. After years of anger and frustration, she heard of a woman with the very same affliction, whose sight had been restored. It was the same plea her children had lifted to God. The same cry she and her husband put into God’s hands so many times. “I was happy for that woman yet frustrated with God,” Jennifer admits. “I felt brought to my knees and just let it all out to Him, asking, ‘Why am I crying out to you for healing and you’re healing someone else?’”
Her pain eventually led her to greater purpose than she could have ever imagined, and a deeper faith than she knew was possible.
“I’ve literally stumbled in the dark and had to find my way,” admits Jennifer. “We all can feel afraid, broken and ashamed, but I’ve learned that God’s grace is sufficient. Just rest in His grace and know He’s carrying you through.”
Read Jennifer’s incredible story in the March issue of Simple Grace. Her book, [Invisible], offers readers a dramatic and poignant retelling of the story of Hosea and Gomer.
