A meekly built mother was struggling to hang on to her young daughter Kai while walking down from the mountains. Though the girl was 6 years old and could certainly walk, she had a broken arm.
And considering Kai broke it at the very top of Mt. Charleston in Nevada, she had a long way down before they could get to medical attention.
That's when a guardian angel came in the form of Miesha Tate, a female UFC fighter. Tate couldn't help but notice the mother needing help. So she offered to carry the little girl all the way down to the bottom.
Much to her surprise, both the mom and little girl agreed--to happy and inspiring results.
"We made it all the way down without slipping or falling!" Tate said. "We agreed we would both be strong for each other."
Thanks to the beautiful teamwork, it looks like Kai will be just fine. It's little wonder that Tate called it the most rewarding day of her athletic career. It's also little wonder that she used it as an opportunity to pay tribute to female strength.
"I have been told many times that I am 'too buff' or 'manly' that I should stop lifting weights, that it's 'gross' and not attractive for a woman," she said. "I am so happy I never listened to the limitations others wanted to put on me and I hope that our youth knows that don't have to conform. That strength and beauty come from within!"
We couldn't agree more.
Tear jerker! Meet Kai the sweet little girl that kept me company down the mountain side, very upbeat despite her broken arm. And I just have to say this was one of the most rewarding days of my athletic career. And I also want to make a point that I have been told many times that I am "too buff" or "manly" that I should stop lifting weights, that it's "gross" and not attractive for a woman. I am so happy I never listened to the limitations others wanted to put on me and I hope that our youth knows that don't have to conform. That strength and beauty come from within! #BeStrong #BeCapable #BeWhatYouWant #NoRegrets #JustLove #PayItForward #GiveBack #Inspire
