Many people imagine a certain "dream home" that they want to eventually move into. Mom Renee Davis was no different in this respect. She envisioned a large, comfy house with giant closets and a patio with a brick fireplace, surrounded by woods and friendly bunnies and deer.
But when Renee discussed this with her husband, he said five words that stopped her right in her tracks.
He said, "I'll just be sleeping there."
For context, her husband works at a high-paying, but also high-pressure job. In order to be able to afford this so-called "dream home," he'd not only have to continue working there, he'd also not be able to retire at the age he wanted to.
So in short, no matter what they put in or around this "dream home," he would rarely be around to enjoy it. Not much of a dream, then.
So that's why, as Renee revealed in a For Every Mom post, the couple decided to let go of their dream home and foster another dream instead. They're working toward finding him a less time-consuming job, so they can be together in the home they have--and less stressed.
Renee wrote, "We’ll now plan a future of putting the time and effort into our dream family as opposed to our dream home."
Now that sounds like a dream worth pursuing!
