If you're anything like 41-year-old Laura Ruffino of Buffalo, N.Y., you'd do anything possible to fulfill your friend's wish--including adopting four children--without a moment's hesitation.
The moment Ruffino's best friend since fifth grade, Liz Diamond, found out that her stage four brain cancer had worsened, she asked her to watch over her four daughters: Tara, age 12, Samona, 9, Ella, 8 and Lily, 6. The day after Diamond passed away, the four girls moved in to Ruffino's home, joining her daughters Bella, 14, and Grace, 12, as well as her husband, Rico.
With six girls now living under one roof, it seems Ruffino has her hands full--but her generous spirit and love for her best friend hasn't changed. Hear more of her inspiring story here.
