The December issue of Simple Grace features an exclusive interview with Hillary Scott, solo country artist and member of Lady Antebellum. Here, she opens up about the inspiration behind her hit song "Thy Will"
Though Hillary knew God was by her side, she admits that she definitely questioned His plan. And asking why? during her heartbreaking journey inspired her hit song, “Thy Will,” the first single from Love Remains, the new gospel album featuring Hillary’s mother, singer Linda Davis, her father, songwriter Lang Scott, and her younger sister, Rylee. In the song, Hillary sings to the Lord: I know You’re good/ But this don’t feel good right now/ And I know You think/ Of things I could never think about/ It’s hard to count it all joy/ Distracted by the noise/ Just trying to make sense/ Of all Your promises/ Sometimes I gotta stop/ Remember that You’re God/ And I am not/ So/ Thy will be done
Hillary insists, “It’s okay to ask God why. The key is to keep talking to God and keep your relationship strong.”
