Kevin West’s touching memoir, Angel In Aisle 3, is featured in the December issue of Simple Grace. Here, Kevin opens up about his prayer rituals and Christmas traditions
Kevin prays throughout the day and attempts to follow God’s prompting for who in his life needs prayer. One of his more unique practices is something he calls “flash prayer.” For this practice, Kevin focuses on praying for “strangers who appeared in need.” It’s a simple way for him to focus his prayers outward and lift up those he interacts with on a daily basis.
Kevin sees evidence of God’s love in many ways, but finds special comfort in the Nativity story. “The story of Christ’s birth was God’s unique answer to draw us to Him, giving us everything— salvation, endless hope, the love and warmth of family,” Kevin says.
Another amazing thing about Christmas? It’s the perfect excuse to eat his favorite holiday dish: roasted turkey. With all the trimmings of course.
Angel In Aisle 3, the incredible true story of the unlikely friendship that develops between a grocery-store manager and a homeless man, is available now.
