"I thought, ‘There’s going to be a pile of blood; he just cracked his skull open,'" LynnMarie Rink said.
Thankfully, that didn't happen, but 9-year-old James was hurt and disoriented. And Rink was trying to keep it together while keeping him on the floor, so that he wouldn't become more upset. And then, a store employee sat down on the floor with them.
"Are you OK?" Andrew Wall asked. "What can I do for you?"
Rink asked Wall if they could complete the transaction on the floor, so her son wouldn't have to move right away. Wall not only did that, but he also put a protective case on their new iPad and then showed her son how to use it. Rink shared her gratitude for Wall's unbelievably kind gesture in a Facebook post that has now gone viral.
Rink wrote, "There are no words to accurately describe how grateful I am that he took the time to ‘meet us right where we were.’ He didn’t have to sit down on the floor with us. He could have easily waited for us to stand. Could have easily waited for us to come back another day. But he hung out with us in the midst of our pain."
