Bestselling author of the memoir and feature film, Same Kind of Different as Me, Ron Hall, talks about his daily prayer life and God's unending faithfulness, even in the most trying times. Here, Ron opens up about his late wife's struggle with cancer, and how gathering a team of angels to pray for her turned a grim diagnosis into heartening grace:
"After Debbie's cancer diagnosis, our only hope was to cling to Paul's command in 1 Thes. 5:17 to pray without ceasing," Ron recalls. "Our friends, family and church family committed to the same, and continuous prayers, around-the-clock prayers were lifted for my wife's healing. During the darkest 19 months of our lives, God called my homeless friend Denver to pray all night long. Every morning, he would deliver to our home a fresh relevant message gleaned from hours on his knees in conversation with God. The Holy Spirit and angels in the form of other people were so real and present, I could feel His breath and the flutter of wings."
