Veteran financial advisor and author Emily Stroud shares her secrets for fighting anxiety about money and finding a wealth of joy in Jesus in the new year. Here, Emily shares how gratitude and keeping a budget of your blessings is key to stop worry in its tracks:
When you're in a "lean season" and spiraling into worry, Emily suggests keeping a budget of blessings. "You can't be both grateful and fearful at the same time," she says. "Tracking all the ways God takes care of you and reflecting on each with gratitude shows you how He's at work in your life."
Emily advises keeping a notebook or a "Daily Bread Report," and writing down the dollar amount needed to pay a certain bill. Later, in a different color next to it, record how God provided for that need. "As you see His provisions come through day after day, it makes it clear that though things seem bad, God sees your need and continues to faithfully provide! It brings so much peace."
