It's not like the didn't need the love, either. As Officer Quinn posted on Facebook, all that anti-police sentiment just makes cops feel like giving up. "We're only human," the Kansas City policeman told the local Fox TV station.
So the two men were touched when a teenager, getting up to leave with her family, dropped a napkin down on the table as she passed. The message: "Thanks for keeping us safe."
Officer Quinn was so moved, he slipped the napkin in his pocket and has carried it around ever since. On the days he's feeling down, it's a good reminder of the love and respect people have for their local cops.
That wasn't the only surprise that day. The officers found out that the family of the girl had paid their meal already. And as they walked out, a mom and her son handed them a $15 Chili's gift card. (The officers donated the gift card to another family in need.)
After all these incidents, Officer Quinn posted, "We actually said to each other let's just stay at Chili's forever." And since that was out of the question, he did ask people to share his post, so those customers "will know just how appreciated and POWERFUL their actions were."
