This easy-to-make table display is a lovely way to showcase love and gratitude for our Lord. Simply carve out a pumpkin, insert blooms and write on your favorite verse. Then gather everyone around the table to count all your blessings!
- 1 (6") pumpkin
- Ice cream scoop
- 1 drinking glass
- 6 each dahlias and mums
- 1 handful of seasonal berries
- 1 handful leafy greenery
- Craft-store white paint pen
- 1 dinner plate
Step 1: Carefully slice off the top of the pumpkin and thoroughly scoop out all the seeds using an ice cream scoop or spoon. Write a verse (like Psalm 136:1) onto the front of the pumpkin using a white paint pen.
Step 2: Next, place a drinking glass inside the pumpkin. Then tuck crumpled paper towels or newspaper around the glass to help support it. Snip about two dozen fall flower stems (like dahlias, mums and seasonal berries) to the height of the pumpkin plus 3 inches.
Step 3: Add leaves to the glass, then insert blooms one stem at a time, crisscrossing stems as you go. To finish, fill in gaps with berried branches. Place the bouquet on a plate, then display on a Thanksgiving tabletop.
