A young girl named Bailey began crying when a police officer approached her mother's car. Her mom was only getting stopped for a minor traffic violation, but that was hard for the fearful child to understand.
The cop's partner, Dre Phillips, always hated seeing kids get upset when their parents got stopped. So Phillips decided to do something about it for Bailey.
Phillips wrote in a Facebook post that he tried cheering her up by offering pieces of candy. When that didn't work, he spent several minutes talking with her to help her calm down.
Suddenly, little Bailey jumped right out of her mother's arms and into his for a big hug.
Phillips wrote, "Her mom immediately said, 'Oh! That's picture worthy!'"
Not only did he take adorable hugging photos with her, he also took her on a tour of his police car, and showed her all the buttons and what they do.
Phillips said the interaction made his day, which was an especially crazy one on the job.
He wrote, "We know people are nervous, and often scared, when we're around, but we're human too, and we love to have those moments where we can interact with people like this!"
