Watch the little ones in your life light up with love as you spend together-time making a colorful “giving box” that teaches them the importance of helping those in need. Simply cover an old box with wrapping paper and add spare change. Once the box is full, donate the money to charity. It’s a wonderful way to share the joy of giving!
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”—2 Cor. 9:7
- 2 small boxes with lids
- Patterned gift wrap
- Sheet of paper
Step 1: For each box, remove the lid and set the box down on a flat surface. Cut four squares of gift wrap to fit all four sides of the box. Apply glue to the back of each paper square and press onto the box. Let dry.
Step 2: Cut an extra square of paper to fit the bottom of the box and attach with glue. Next, cut and glue more wrapping paper to cover all sides of the box top.
Step 3: Carefully cut a slit into the box top, then snip a strip of solid-colored paper into a band. Use a glue stick to attach around the box. Write a verse about giving (like 2 Cor. 9:7) on the band. Insert spare change.
