In our February issue, Grammy-winning singer of the anthem I Will Survive Gloria Gaynor shares how God's love carried her through the darkness of addiction and the loss of her mother. Here, Gloria opens up about how God delivered when she was facing one of the lowest moments in her life:
"I didn't know where my next meal was coming from," Gloria recounts. "I was living with my niece, no job, money or connections to the music business. It was a terrible time." Still, Gloria clung to the Lord. "I spent all my time praying, singing worship music and studying His word," she recalls. "That way, I could hear and understand His plan."
And as Gloria let God carry Her, He began to pave a new way forward for her. "We tend to think God only loves us when His answer to our prayers is 'yes,'" Gloria says. "But God doesn't have any spoiled children. He's going to do what's best for us whether we like it or not."
