When Saundra Adams' pregnant daughter, Cherica, was shot and killed by a hit man hired by the baby's father, Saundra was devastated. But when Cherica's son miraculously survived, Sandra had to lean on her faith and rid her heart of hate so that she could raise her special grandson. Here a sneak peek at her story:
As Saundra struggled to come to grips with her daughter’s death, she also began to prepare to raise Chancellor, which meant quitting her job and learning to care for a severely disabled child. “I loved him so much and saw Cherica live on in him,” she smiles. Still, a shadow hung over Saundra. “I felt like hating Rae,” she admits. “If I could’ve done something to him, I would’ve. I wanted to beat him up.” But as the day came to bring Chancellor home from the NICU, Saundra feared her bitterness would have a terrible ripple effect…and Chancellor would learn to hate too."
It was only after Saundra surrendered to God's will that she found the strength to forgive her daughter's murderer and was able to give her whole heart to caring for her grandson.
