Summer afternoons spent with the little ones in your life are even sweeter when you make this stand-up craft that teaches them the Lord loves them—no matter what!
- 3 (10") white paper plates
- Bright blue craft paint
- Colorful markers
- Scrapbook paper (light blue, dark blue, black and white)
- Hot glue
Step 1: Start by setting the paper plates on a newspaper-covered surface. Apply 2 coats of blue craft paint to both sides of each plate. Let dry.
Step 2: Stack 2 plates face to face. Cut 2 inches off the bottom of each, creating a base. Next, cut the third plate to create a tail, as shown. Hot-glue all plate pieces together to form the whale. (You’ll be able to slide your hand inside to use the whale as a puppet.)
Step 3: Draw 2 spouts on blue paper. Cut out and glue to top of the whale’s head. Cut an eye shape out of the black and white paper; glue onto the whale.
Step 4: Cut a 3" circle from black paper. Color in the Jonah template* and glue to the black circle; attach to plate. To finish, draw a smile on the whale.
