Tiffany Johnson, a mother of three from North Carolina, credits her trust in God for helping her stay calm and survive a horrific attack
According to ABC 11 News, while snorkeling in the warm clear waters of the Bahamian reef with her husband, Tiffany found herself staring into the eyes of every swimmer’s worst fear: a shark.
As Tiffany was swimming, she felt a tug on her arm and found herself eye to eye with a large tiger shark, her whole arm in its mouth. “I kept trying to yank my hand back and the last time I yanked, he had cut it clean off so I was able to actually get free,” Tiffany says. But instead of panicking, she began to pray. “I felt this tangible peace on me and it was so thick that I was just calm.”
Her husband, J.J., tells WBTV how he jumped into the water to help, but she was already swimming back saying, “Help me, help me, Jesus.” Though Tiffany lost her arm in the struggle, she tells WSOCTV, “The whole thing is just a miracle.”
Today Tiffany is home after her third surgery and she tells WSOCTV, “I am thankful to be able to share this story and I hope, and I know, that it’s going to change people’s lives because you can’t hear it and not see God in it."
