Oakley, OH.—Alysun Ogilby, a single mother of three kids, has admired the cheerful demeanor of Willie, the man who delivers her Sunday newspaper, for three years.
When the church she attends gave each member $5 in a "reverse offering," Alysun knew she wanted to use the money to bless Willie. But rather than just give him the $5, she started a crowdfunding page with the hopes of raising $500 to get him a gift card.
In a short amount of time she has raised over $5,000, enough money to buy Willie a bicycle to make his paper deliveries easier.
“I want to make it clear to him that this isn't a charity, but a blessing,” she said. “Willie is very loved. He teaches us that even when we are tired, we can smile.”
