Make together time with a child in your life even more special with this easy craft!
- 5 pieces of construction paper (1 sheet each red, yellow, orange, white and black)
- 1 paper-towel tube (cut in half)
- 1 black marker
- 1 bottle of all-purpose glue (like Elmer’s)
- 10 ft. of twine
Have your little one trace her hands onto colored paper; cut them out. Glue 4 paper hands together to form feathers. Write the verse and thankful thoughts, as shown.
Using a pencil, draw a V for a beak onto the tube. Cut, then lift the cut portion up, as shown. Snip a tiny triangle from orange paper and glue it onto the beak.
Place a strip of glue on the top edge of the roll. Begin tightly wrapping twine around the roll, adding more glue as you go, until tube is covered. Secure with more glue at base.
Cut out paper eyes and wattle and glue on as shown. To finish, glue the feathers to the tube.
