Emily P. Freeman
The latest issue of Simple Grace features thoughtful responses from Emily P. Freeman’s Facebook fans about where they saw God today. Here, Emily shares the surprising way she has been praying lately, and the amazing way it has been shaping her relationship with God.
“It might seem strange, but my favorite way to pray lately is by holding an empty bowl in my hands,” Emily says. “It helps to remind me to sit in God's presence without an agenda, ready to receive whatever He might have to offer.”
Emily also shared the small but important way that God makes Himself known to her every day.
“Every morning when I drive my girls to school, we pass the same small lake in our neighborhood. And every morning around one specific corner of the road, the sun shines so brilliantly through the trees and reflects off the lake,” Emily says. “Today as we rounded that corner, I raised my hand to wave at the sun. My girls (obviously) questioned why their crazy mother was waving, but in that moment I just felt like thanking God for bringing that sun up every single morning for us. What a kind thing for Him to do.”
