A charity giveaway isn't your typical meet-cute. It's even less typical if it's between a volunteer woman and a homeless man. But that's exactly what happened between June Radford and Frank Boorer.
Boorer had ended up homeless after his first marriage ended, so he spent his time in a shelter and later a hostel. He was searching for a new winter coat at the giveaway last year when he laid eyes on Radford. He couldn't forget her, so when he spotted her again at another charity event a few weeks later, he got up the courage to talk to her. And in a miraculous five weeks, he proposed and they married in a beautiful beachside wedding in Cyprus.
What's more, the charity organization helped with a deposit for a house for them. And now, Boorer has a job as an electrical engineer. Meanwhile, countless people have been following him along with his touching story, which he said has left him "staggered."
"It was wonderful," he said. "I am so glad I went looking for that new coat and trainers."
