Randy Nichols and his wife visit their local Olive Garden on the 16th of every month. And as their server Sandra Krause found out recently, it's for a heartbreaking reason.
The Nichols' daughter Michele tragically died in a plane crash on June 16, 2010. Michele's favorite restaurant was always Olive Garden, so her parents decided to honor her memory by eating there once a month. When Krause found out about this while talking to them, she could sympathize since her father had passed away unexpectedly not long ago.
"Sandra and I just hit a nerve together, you know with what we’ve gone through," Nichols said.
Clearly, Krause felt the same way, because she decided to surprise the Nichols at their next meal. She had every employee sign a card for them. She bought a bouquet for them during her shift. And the manager covered the cost of their entire meal.
It was an act of kindness that left the grieving couple in tears. But this time, they were tears of joy.
Such a heartwarming story.
