Monroe, Conn.—A storeowner in Connecticut was shocked Sunday morning to find an item she had reported stolen returned in an improved condition.
Midge Saglimbene, the co-owner of Angels and Company, was heartbroken last week when she noticed their Jesus statue was missing and issued pleas to the community for the statue's return.
She was shocked on Sunday to receive a call informing her that not only was the statue back, it was freshly painted.
"Jesus has returned," Saglimbene said. "No note was left, but we believe it to be the ‘Good Thief’ with good intentions, and we are grateful.”
